  • One of the areas that we see as being largely overlooked by the American church is ministering to international students and refugees. The world is at our doorstep and we are doing a poor job of letting it in. Engaging in ministry to international students and refugees is a way to fulfill the Great Commission without having to leave the U.S.

This year there was a record 800,000+ international students that came to the United States to study. The 1st, 2nd and 4th highest percentage of students came from China, India and Saudi Arabia, respectively. Also, the countries sending the most refugees to the U.S. in recent years have been Burma, Bhutan, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Somalia. All of the countries mentioned are very difficult to enter for American missionaries. There needs to be a greater, more intentional focus on these groups. We believe with dedicated and passionate personnel in this area we can become a champion for this strategic outreach.
